Hello LMSers!

Firstly THIS THURSDAY we have the BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR ON THE LMS CALENDAR - BATTLE OF THE BANDS FINAL 2010!!
Four bands are competing to win a slot to play at the Summer Ball, a recording prize from I-Choose Music and £250!! And it is a very eclectic mix in this years final. Competing will be:
##Romantic Rights - www.myspace.com/weareromanticrights - a very lively three-piece band with a strong electro vibe!
##The Age - www.myspace.com/theagebandcardiff - a four-piece rock/pop band with influences such as Queen, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles!
##Whytel - www.myspace.com/whytel - a band that fuses infectious hip-hop beats with indie-pop stylings, showcasing an eclectic mix of genres!
##Llinos - www.myspace.com/llinosmusic - a female solo artist with folk influences that delivers a breath-taking and emotional performance!

So, get down to SOLUS at 7pm on THURSDAY 18th MARCH and vote which band you would like to see win BOB 2010, and play at the summer ball! The event will also feature guest DJs, and an appearance from a very special guest band too!

Tuesday - IRISH Kickback Open Mic Night @ The Old Library (and the last one for a while) -
We had an awesome week last week - over 190 people in for open mic so come on down again this week for cheap drinks and lots of IRISH acoustic music! Obviously it is St. Patricks Day as the clock turns to midnight at Kickback this week - so come armed with your fiddles and bodhrans and lets get jigging!
We have all the usual very cheap drinks offers:

Hope you're not getting too snowed under with all these xmas deadlines and that you still got some time to party on your last week and a bit of term!

First off we got Fun Factory on monday- nightmare before christmas with a wicked band for you and also a guest appearance by the GRIMSOC ZOMBIE CHOIR doing a special carol service from 10pm in the side room. Bring you santa hats and get involved!

Also if you want a little bit of alternative christmas for yourself, theres a great CD thats been made by some local bands called the twelve days of christmas which features the likes of lucky delucci and little my, check out the facebook group, go down to spillers and get your copy of the CD for £6. BARGAIN.

Tuesday (8th) sees the last kickback of term, and its going to be a christmasssy one, we get really busy and slots are usually booked up well before the night, so if you want to play make sure you email lmscardiff@googlemail.com so Kaffy can book you in a slot.
